Viburnum sieboldii Senaca -
Nice ornamental tree or large shrub. This plant was a National Arboretum selection because of it's self pollination and large fruit and flower displays.
Massive white flowers in late Spring are followed by red berries on red pendicels making a nice contrast against a back drop of rich green foliage.
This native plant produces a very heavy berry set once used in preserves. The fruit is especially appreciated by birds.
A great plant for a naturalizing this shrub produces food and cover for wildlife. Good for borders, informal hedges and screens as well as winter interest if the fruit persists.
